Talk about California dreaming ...

Ahead of the royal newlyweds' trip to Southern California as part of their North American tour, Women's Wear Daily has tapped a slew of L.A. designers to take the couple from Westminster to West Coast.

Among the 15 local designers offering their style suggestions for the July 8 stopover—the Duke's first official trip to California, and his wife's first U.S. visit ever—is Rachel Zoe, who envisions the Duchess trading her tailored coatdresses for floaty boho pieces. Hey, it could happen.

"At first glance, this look appears to be a dress, but it is actually two pieces—a maxiskirt and white blouse tucked in ... beyond," Zoe tells WWD. "I love how it feels modern and classic at the same time. It’s glamorous, boho, and sexy without being too revealing. I can completely envision Kate wearing it. Perfect for a beach party in Malibu."

Royal looks: style suggestions for Catherine from designers Trina Turk, BCBG, Rachel Zoe, and Jenni Kayne.

Seven for All Mankind creative director Michele Manz, on the other hand, sees the couple in premium denim, while Max and Lubov Azria of BCBG Max Azria sketched out a "refined tea-length" tiered sundress and strapless jumpsuit for the Duchess.

Of course, it wouldn't be California without some swimwear. Dare we dream that Wills dons O'Neill's striped board shorts while Catherine hits the beach in Bleu Rod Beattie's sea blue bandeau bikini inspired by her Issa engagement dress and sapphire engagement ring?

Jenni Kayne, Juan Carlos Obando, Gregory Parkinson, Vans, Trina Turk, Kevan Hall, Goorin Bros., Kasil Workshop, Oliver Peoples, and Tarina Tarantino also submitted their Cali-cool sketches for the couple (just in case any personal shoppers are reading), while Hollywood notables like Jackie Collins offer sightseeing tips ranging from a yoga class to El Coyote.

And if they're really at a loose end, there's always Plan B.

“I’m a terrible tour guide," Ryan Reynolds tells WWD. "They should hang out in my living room. That’s where I like to hang out.”

We'll be right there!
