Vogue has found a true treasure in June cover girl Penélope Cruz. Dressed in white with her tousled brown hair swept to the side and her sultry features highlighted with flawless, sun-kissed makeup, the smoldering Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides star brings on a virtual heatwave.

Inside the magazine, Cruz, who was photographed by Mario Testino, keeps things steamy in white-hot looks by Dolce & Gabbana. In one shot, she lazes seductively in a lace cap-sleeve dress by the Italian duo; in another she poses in a sheer lace corset number with Castañer ankle-tie espadrilles.

She also flaunts her figure in a curve-hugging lace-and-cotton bodysuit from the luxe label. Hard to believe this is a woman who gave birth in January.

“It is a revolutionary experience,” she tells Vogue of becoming mom to Leo, her son with husband Javier Bardem. “That’s the best way I can describe it. It transforms you completely, in a second. Nature is very wise and gives you nine months to prepare, but in that moment—when you see that face, you are transformed forever.”

Though that sometimes means catching fewer Zs than usual, the Spanish beauty doesn't mind. “Some nights you sleep more, some nights less, but you don’t care,” she says.

The Oscar winner was pregnant while filming Pirates of the Caribbean and describes it as “a beautiful experience.” The same can likely be said of reuniting with Blow co-star Johnny Depp, who has long been her favorite leading man.

“I came to Los Angeles for the first time in 1994,” Cruz tells Vogue. “I only knew how to say two things. One was ‘How are you?’ The other was ‘I want to work with Johnny Depp.’”

Sigh. We should all be so lucky.
