Fergie Fronts Lucky Magazine
With her voluminous hair, turquoise-and-purple silk Louis Vuitton zebra-print dress, and Elsa Peretti for Tiffany sterling silver snake necklace, Fergie looks mighty fierce on the June cover of Lucky magazine.
“I’m having so much fun with fashion right now,” says the singer, who ’fesses up to feeling “amazing” whenever she wears Balmain. “I’m letting some things go and bringing other things in. It’s inspiring.”
Indeed, the Black Eyed Peas star has a wardrobe so extensive that it earned its own floor—nicknamed “Fergie Land"—in the Brentwood, Calif., home she shares with hubby Josh Duhamel.
“For years I held on to everything I got,” she explains. “Part of me thought it might all go away.” Eventually, a stylist advised her to stop saving all her free swag, and the Fifi Award winner began cleaning house.
“I’ve purged 200 pairs of shoes already,” says the footwear designer, who invites her girlfriends to shop her closet. “One of my bedrooms is filled with clothes, and when people come over, I give them a trash bag and a glass of wine, then say, ‘Go!’”
No doubt her pals are hoping they’ll find some of the pieces she models for Lucky.
In one shot, the toned entertainer—who credits her fit figure to jogging and jumping rope—gets her groove on in a sheer yellow top over a red tank paired with a black-and-white striped skirt. For another photo, she wears a black minidress with a multicolor design, plus bright bracelets and a pair of black leather Sanibel heels from her Fergie Footwear collection.
“Platforms are my favorite heels for the summer because they give you a long leg,” she says. “I like to wear tall heels so when my husband, Josh, kisses me, I don’t have to stand on my tiptoes.”
Her other sexy secret? “I like to spray Outspoken—my perfume by Avon—on my hair,” she reveals. “That’s a trick I learned from [Los Angeles club promoter] Pantera Sarah a long time ago. It makes the scent last longer.”
And it certainly beats the smell of Aqua Net.
