Katy Perry goes old Hollywood for the June cover of Vanity Fair.

Wearing a gold retro swimsuit, bright red lips, and her raven waves cascading over one eye, Katy Perry is the epitome of a ’40s pinup on the June cover of Vanity Fair. But despite all appearances, the “E.T.” singer insists she’s no supermodel.

“It takes a village to make me who I am,” the ghd spokesperson tells the magazine.

While Perry looks Hollywood  in her Annie Leibovitz–shot Vanity Fair portraits, husband Russell Brand has been known to snap photos of her that aren’t quite as flattering. In fact, last year he Tweeted a pic of his bare-faced wife just as she was waking up.

“I didn’t really care. I mean, when I go to rehearsals I look like that. I’m every woman,” says Perry, who is seen inside Vanity Fair’s pages posing in Paris in a chic halter-neck gown. “You don’t have to wake up looking like, you know, Gisele.”

Besides, Perry says, the music is all that matters.

“I don’t care what people say about my relationship; I don’t care what they say about my boobs,” she says. “People are buying my songs; I have a sold-out tour. I’m getting incredible feedback from my music.”

We’re pretty sure her Vanity Fair cover will wow the crowds as well.
