Condé Nast Has a Secret Beauty Mag for Wal-Mart

Wal-mart x Condé Nast? Now that's a collaboration we never saw coming.

According to WWD, the publishing company teamed up with the megastore to create, Beauty Scoop, a beauty magazine sold exclusively at Wal-mart.

Beauty Scoop features tips, how-to's, and stories written by editors from Glamour, Allure, and Lucky that reach millions of readers each month. And while that's one hefty number, we're not the least bit surprised that Vogue-ies aren't on the contributors list.

The main push of the magazine is to push product, but in order to do that "tastefully," Wal-mart looked to the respected publishing house for help.

What's curious, and perhaps insulting (which is probably why the collaboration has been kept a secret for so long), is that Wal-mart already has a longstanding relationship with Time Inc.

This could potentially burn bridges between Time Inc. and Wal-mart, and we can't imagine Anna Wintour or Graydon Carter will go anywhere near the massive retailer.

Suffice it to say, cats out of the bag and it's not looking pretty.
