Rumor Has It: Kate Upton to Appear on the Cover of Carine Roitfeld's New Mag?

Carine Roitfeld's heavily anticipated new magazine, CR Fashion Book, is due out in September and rumor has it Kate Upton is the cover girl!
According to a "reliable source" to Fashionista, Carine looks at Kate as the "new Lara Stone," and shot her for the cover story.
In the past few months both Kate and Carine have been the recipients of some not-so-friendly gossip. Kate was outwardly rejected from lingerie giant, Victoria's Secret; and who could forget those rumors that she purchased a ticket to the Met Gala for $25K? But just as everyone was starting to peg her as the most non-high-fashion model on the planet, Kate went ahead and scored an editorial spread in this month's Vogue.
Carine, on the other hand, is not on such good terms with Vogue or any other Condé Nast publication for that matter. A few weeks ago, the publishing company's International CEO, Jonathan Newhouse, reminded all photographers, stylists, and editors that they are under contract with Condé Nast and are not permitted to work with Roitfeld on any of her upcoming ventures. Carine, however, has been aware of this since she announced her plans to launch her own magazine.
Though this rumor has yet to be confirmed (we checked with Kate Upton's agent who declined to comment), we can't help but love the idea that two outcasts, who also happen to be two of the most notable figures in the fashion industry, are teaming up. Kate Upton on the cover of CR Fashion Book, styled by Carine Roitfeld and photographed by...Karl Lagerfeld? Terry Richardson? Juergen Teller? It all sounds good to us!
