Pierre Balmain Revealed in New Video
Balmain may be a quintessentially French brand, but for the introduction of its lower-priced Pierre Balmain line, the fashion house has taken to the Empire State.
A new film from the label, shot by Inez von Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, shows Abbey Lee Kershaw in the Spring 2012 collection, frolicking about in Brooklyn and Manhattan with her real-life boyfriend, Our Mountain front man Matthew Hutchinson. (The band’s “Devil’s Banquet” serves as the soundtrack.)
As for the clothes? There are zebra print tops and jackets, super-skinny zippered trousers, and a slashed micro-mini LBD—all a perfect fit with the rocker-vibe of the video.
The film is the first in a series of three; the second will debut on Friday, September 30, with a focus on Hutchinson and the Pierre Balmain menswear collection.
Stay tuned for the entire collection, which will be revealed in a presentation on Sunday, October 2, during Paris Fashion Week.
