On the bright side: Burberry's latest Spring 2011 campaign features Sophie Kennedy-Clark and Matthew Beard.
Burberry's dynamic Spring 2011 campaign is full of surprises.
The fourth installment of Mario Testino's Brighton, England-set images for the British brand stars April couple Sophie Kennedy-Clark and Matthew Beard, who follow Cara Delevingne/Jacob Young, Jourdan Dunn/Sacha M'Baye, and Tali Lennox/Tara Ferry in the monthly ads.
While Beard, an actor who starred in An Education, sports a black belted trench, red rain jacket, and navy quilted biker jacket for the "April Showers" shoot, Scottish model/actress Kennedy-Clark plays with color and texture in a yellow capelet, red PVC trench, and quilted patent leather jacket accessorized with a snakeskin clutch and handbags featuring yellow and lime PVC takes on the classic check print.
An accompanying video also captures the duo jumping in puddles as rain pours down. Thank goodness for check-print umbrellas!

Jacket required: The models rock the colors of the Union Jack (and, conveniently, the American flag too).
“We wanted to create a dynamic campaign that reflects the diversity of our broad global consumer, revealing new British cast members each month, all with their own identity, embodying the different attitudes of the Burberry guy and girl," Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey said in a press release. "We shot the campaign on Brighton beach to celebrate the great British outdoors and our history of supporting emerging talent and to bring to life the emotion behind protection from the elements.’’
Here's hoping next month brings us some May flowers.
