There’s been Fashion’s Night Out, the event; Fashion’s Night Out, the runway show—now, there’s Fashion’s Night Out, the wardrobe.

The retail-reviving brainchild of Vogue editor Anna Wintour has offered apparel before, but for this year’s celebration (mark your calendars: the event takes place September 8, 2011), an expanded FNO collection will be available to appeal to all kinds of shoppers.

There will be tees, naturally—with long sleeves, short sleeves, in white, in gray, or in multicolors ranging from $25 to $45—as well as a $15 baseball cap (for the boyfriend you’re dragging along), and a $50 tote bag in three color combos: natural and cognac, gray and orange, and navy and pink.

As with the last two celebrations, 40 percent of the proceeds from the sale of the FNO collection will benefit the New York City AIDS Fund in the Community Trust; in 2010, more than $500,000 was raised for the cause.

Also new this year? A chance for e-tailers to join the festivities by creating virtual events so that shoppers not near an FNO hub on September 8 will be able to participate as well.

“We’ve come a long way in three years, and thankfully, the fashion industry is much healthier than when we started in 2009, but it could always be better,” Wintour said in a release. “We’re very proud of the excitement and level of traffic the initiative has inspired over the last two years, and we are eager to see the kinds of events retailers will create to turn all that wonderful enthusiasm into even greater sales this year.”
