When fashion and contemporary artists collaborate, fashion-forward consumers can't get enough. From Vuitton's collaborations with Murakami, Stephen Sprouse, and Kusama, to Each Other, to Nike's Lichtenstein-inspired sneakers (Colette was selling them for $500, but I found them at the Tanger Mall for $49.99 - yes!), there is always great excitement around fashion/art collaborations.

Jimmy Choo is no stranger to this winning combination. The brand has done capsule collections with Nan Goldin, Marilyn Minter and Ricard Phillips in the past. The latest such pairing is artist Rob Pruitt's partnership with Jimmy Choo: 19 styles of shoes, bags and accessories that echo the artist's bright colors, leopard and panda motifs, and humorous subjects.

The launch at the Fletcher-Sinclair Mansion attracted scores of fashion and art types, including Pruitt himself, Erika Bearman, Phillip Bloch, Peter Brant Jr., Olivia Chantecaille, Will Cotton, Claire Distenfeld, Casey Fremont, Eugenia Gonzalez, Jeanne Greenberg, Mirabelle Marden, Lorenzo Martone, Dabney Mercer, Mia Moretti, Tinsley Mortimer, Glenn O’Brien, Hilary Rhoda, Amanda Ross, Inga Rubenstein, Lola Rykiel, Kate Schelter, and Shirin von Wulffen.

The beaux-arts mansion was converted into a cutting edge space, with black and white striped floors and pink neon lights. The products, of course, were the stars, and are sure to sell out fast. Pre-orders, anyone?
