John Galliano is out at Dior.

It’s official: John Galliano’s alleged anti-Semitic statements have lost him his job at Dior.

After initially suspending the designer, the fashion house has initiated proceedings to terminate him, calling his behavior “odious,” WWD reports.

“I condemn most firmly the statements made by John Galliano, which are a total contradiction with the essential values that have always been defended by the House of Christian Dior,” says Sidney Toledano, Dior’s president and chief executive officer.

The Dior dismissal comes just hours after Miss Dior Cherie campaign star Natalie Portman issued a statement saying she was “shocked and disgusted” by a video showing Galliano making anti-Semitic slurs (including “I love Hitler”).

In her statement, Portman said she would not be associated with the designer; however, Dior was already set to reveal Galliano’s fate so it’s unknown to what extent Portman’s stance played in his being let go.

The label has yet to comment on what will become of Galliano’s final Dior collection, which is slated to show at Paris Fashion Week on March 4. The designer, who has been with Dior since 1996, also has the eponymous John Galliano line, which is scheduled to show March 6. Because that line is also under the control of Dior, it appears he will be completely label-less … or perhaps looking for a new investor?
