Shocking 'Downton Abbey' Rumor: Dan Stevens Not Returning for Season 4
While any Downton Abbey rumor should be taken with a grain of salt, this one has put the entire Fashion Etc office in emotional distress.
According to the Daily Mail UK, Dan Stevens (aka "Cousin Matthew Crawley") has quit the popular British drama, effective in the just-confirmed season 4.
A production source said that Stevens "will probably do the first episode of the fourth series, but that will be it."
Though Season 3 is well underway in the UK, it won't be available in the US until January 2013 (UK readers don't ruin it for us!), so there's really no way of knowing how Stevens will (should the rumor be true) make his departure.
There's no confirmation on this rumor (yet), but it's traumatic to think about nonetheless.
