Boys don't make passes at girls who wear glasses, is how that antiquated maxim goes, right? Well, here's an interesting twist.
Salon has picked up on some optical-related dish from the Associated Press.
Some ultra-orthodox men in Jerusalem have been picking up $6 glasses that blur their vision just enough so they won't be able to detect "immodestly dressed" women. (The number of glasses sold is unknown.)
Men and women who are not married to one another must be divided and already are separated on buses, for example, while women cover up with long sleeves and skirts.
Boys who wear glasses don't make passes at girls...that doesn't quite have the same ring.
