Jennifer Lopez Named Venus Global Ambassador

Jennifer Lopez really had a leg up on the competition for her latest gig: the superstar has been named the first-ever global ambassador for Venus razors.

“The Venus brand empowers women and speaks to the ‘goddess’ in every one of us,” says Lopez, who flaunts her gorgeous gams while draped in a white wrap in one image from the campaign. “Every woman is a goddess in her own right when we let our best feminine self shine through. Venus keeps my legs looking beautiful, giving me the confidence to feel just like a goddess.”

Proving that “she’s got it,” Lopez has also recorded a revamp of the classic pop song “Venus.”

“Music is one of my great passions, so being able to record a remake of the iconic ‘Venus’ song was a really special part of this campaign,” says the American Idol judge. “I love that I could express my own passion and creativity, and hopefully inspire other women to do the same … whatever it is they love doing.”

Besides inspiring through her music, the singer/actress/entrepreneur—who also shakes her moneymaker for L’Oréal—is helping to launch a new philanthropic effort dedicated to empowering women through education: the Venus Goddess Fund for Education.

The organization aims to enable global educational opportunities for women through partnerships with CARE International, the Step Up Women’s Network, and Lopez’s Maribel Foundation, which is dedicated to improving the health and well being of women and children.

“Jennifer is a Venus Goddess in every sense of the word. Our brand celebrates the multi-dimensionality of women, and no one embodies that more than her,” says Sonia Fife, general manager, Global Venus, P&G Beauty. “You’re not just a goddess in the big moments in life, but in the little ones, too. Jennifer shared much of her personal experience as part of this campaign, and she’s every bit a goddess relaxing at home with her children, or performing on stage, showing off those rock star legs.”

Visit the Gillette Venus Web site or Facebook page to hear Lopez’s rendition of “Venus,” read her goddess story, and find ways to engage with the Venus Goddess Fund for Education.

For every woman who shares her Goddess moment, Venus will donate $1 to the fund and ensure a brighter future for women and girls.
