Cerruti Halting Women’s Division to Focus on Menswear

Cerruti is halting its women’s line.

Cerruti is saying “ciao” to womenswear.

At the January 22 presentation of the brand’s Autumn/Winter 2011 collection in Paris, chief executive officer Florent Perrichon announced that the company is halting its women’s line to focus on the men’s business, reports WWD.

“We prefer not to spread ourselves too thin in a field that is highly competitive,” Perrichon said, adding that womenswear creative director Richard Nicoll would present his final collection in March.

For his part, Julian Cerruti—son of founder Nino—believes that garbing guys is the way to go.

“All the ingredients are there for a winning formula,” he said.
