Howdy, partner: Guess goes Wild Wild West.

The West just got a little more wild thanks to actress Amber Heard’s sexy Fall 2011 Guess campaign.

Photographed by Ellen von Unwerth, the classic black-and-white images trace the love story of a seriously stylish saloon singer and a very dapper cowboy, from their first meeting at a bus stop right up to their steamy clinch.

Heard, who stars as a Playboy Bunny in NBC’s upcoming ’60s-era series The Playboy Club, channels the decade again for her Guess ads, posing à la Marilyn Monroe in cuffed, skinny jeans; cropped denim jackets; knit bustiers; and retro-inspired dresses. Her paramour, model Silviu Tolu, wears studly styles such as denim jackets, leather bombers, Western-inspired wovens, and worn-in jeans.

“Whether it’s a private glimpse of our heroine lounging in her seat, primping at a motel before her performance, or the intimate shots of the characters’ connection unfolding, the campaign is shot in such a way that the viewer knows they are witnessing a life-altering experience between the pair,” Guess said in a statement.

In March, the company announced that Heard was joining the ranks of Claudia Schiffer, Anna Nicole Smith, Eva Herzigova, and Drew Barrymore as the latest face of the label.

“I’ve been a huge fan of Guess for a long time and to be the new face of the Fall 2011 campaign is very exciting,” Heard said at the time. “It was such an amazing experience to have been able to work with some of the most creative talents in the industry, such as Paul Marciano and Ellen von Unwerth, who have collaborated on some of the most iconic campaigns in Guess history.”

For his part, Guess chief executive officer and creative director Marciano couldn’t be more thrilled to have Heard on board.

“Amber embodies the essence of the true Guess girl with her natural beauty and all-American good looks,” he said. “The campaign, which was shot by Ellen von Unwerth, is sure to become an American classic that will continue to define what the Guess brand stands for.”

In other words, Heard has true grit.
