Miranda Lambert is a blushing bride on the cover of Us Weekly.

She may be country music royalty, but Miranda Lambert didn’t turn to Alexander McQueen’s Sarah Burton to outfit her on her wedding day. Instead, the down-home gal married fellow singer Blake Shelton in the same dress her mother wore as a bride three decades earlier.

“My parents have been married for 33 years, so this dress is already a good-luck charm,” Lambert, who exchanged vows in her native Texas on May 14, tells Us Weekly of the simple ivory gown (her mom wore a Melissa Sweet for Priscilla of Boston social occasion dress to the couple’s nuptials).

Staying true to her roots, Lambert accessorized her elegant ensemble with custom-made Casadei cowboy boots, and certainly started things off on the right foot. “I couldn’t get over how beautiful she was,” Shelton said of his new wife.

Following the ceremony, Lambert slipped into a short, strapless silk shantung dress and matching veil by Vineyard Collection for Priscilla of Boston’s Marc Brower (her bridesmaids also wore unique, vintage-inspired custom-made gowns by the designer, plus Old Gringo boots). Looking dazzling at the wedding reception, Lambert sang the praises of being Mrs. Blake Shelton.

“I’m married to my best friend!” she told Us. “Looking forward to a lifetime of laughter.”

Sounds like they’ll be making sweet music together for many years to come.
