Met Ball 2012 Trend: Shocking Pink

It's no secret that Elsa Schiaparelli had a yen for pink, the hotter the better. After all, her autobiography was titled Shocking, after her signature hue. And plenty of Met Costume Institute Gala attendees paid tribute to the legendary designer, with many Vogue staffers donning the hue.
Of course, there were variations across the spectrum. Karlie Kloss's Jason Wu gown melded hot pink with strips of black lace. Girls star Allison Williams opted for a simple, strapless fuschia Ralph Lauren gown. And Amber Heard's rosy Zac Posen number was set off by an unbeatable accessory: the designer himself.
Among the others on the pink train: livestream MC Elettra Wiedemann, in Sophie Theallet, and the duo of Carolina Herrera and Julianne Hough, both in the designer's wares.
