Big bang theory: Sandra Bullock's full fringe at the 2011 Golden Globes.

Sandra Bullock was blindsided by some serious bangs, courtesy of celebrity hairstylist David Babaii.

The actress débuted a heavy fringe that all but covered her eyes at the 2011 Golden Globes ceremony.

To achieve Bullock's bangin' new look, Babaii applied a small amount of Couture Colour Pequi Oil Treatment to her damp hair. After blow-drying her hair straight with a paddle brush, he sectioned it, separating the bang area first, then clipping the sides and back.

Starting at the nape, he reapplied the oil treatment to each section for  maximum shine while flat-ironing the hair straight with IT&LY Hairfashion’s digital flatiron.

For the bang area, Babaii turned the iron slightly under, creating a soft, cupping affect. To finish, he warmed some of the oil in his hands, then ran them over the top of Bullock's hair to smooth flyaways and define the piecey texture at the ends.

As for attire, Bullock stuck to the night's reigning neutral trend in a pink-beige embellished one-shoulder gown from Jenny Packham.

Bullock accessorized with Jimmy Choo heels, a VBH clutch, and an Irit Design oxidized sterling silver chain cuff with pavé- and rose-cut diamonds.

Though the Oscar winner's smoky eyes were difficult to make out from beneath the chic curtain of hair, her soft, peachy makeup and nude lips—which closely matched her dress—were clearly visible.

Bullock wasn't the only one taking hair cues from Jane Birkin. Presenter Olivia Wilde also flaunted blunt brown bangs.

Hmm … maybe it's time to bust out the scissors.
