There's nothing like slipping your cold feet into a fluffy UGG boot in the middle of winter, but the staple shoe brand is proving they can do more then just cozy with a Fall 2012 collection that is all edge.

No fluff about it, UGG's Fall 2012 shoes and boots are sleek, sophisticated, and sexy, without sacrificing comfort.

At the Fall 2012 launch party last night, UGG creative director Leah Larson took FashionEtc through the Pre-Fall and Fall 2012 lines, giving us the inside scoop on the new styles and the inspiration behind it all.

"The inspiration behind Pre-Fall is all music and women who rock, like Stevie Nicks and Joan Jett, who were some of my idols growing up. So Pre-Fall is a reflection of rock of the 70's while the core Fall collection is all about New York City," said Larson

"Every season we start out with a main inspiration but we are constantly inspired by our costumer. She likes to have fun and she takes risks. This is how she can take risks. Who doesn't want to wear the classic boot. It's the most comfortable thing you can put on your feet, but we also want to look good and feel good at the same time. The whole point of the collection was not having to sacrifice comfort for fashion."

"I think we are definitely surprising people. I hope we are surprising people each season. The key is surprising them without going too far out there."

Along with the eclectic collection of sandals and boots, Fall 2012 offerings included an array of equally edgy accessories. "We've been having a lot of fun with the accessories. It's been expanding like crazy. We brought it back in house for Fall 2011 and now we have a whole leather goods line full of wallets and crossbody bags and all the tech gadget covers. It's been fun! Now, we're working on travel for Fall 2013, more overnight, weekender stuff," said Larson.

Inspired by "those who yearned to stand out," the UGG Fall 2012 collection is sure to score some celebrity fans. "When you see a celeb wearing UGG and you know they bought it, it's an incredible feeling. Or if you see a pic of a celeb walking out of a store with an UGG bag is like, major SCORE!," said Larson.

Comfortable and chic with an eclectic-edgy twist, UGG takes it to another level for Fall 2012.
