A makeup goldmine: Products from the new Tom Ford Beauty collection.

It's hard to top a group of naked, sudsed-up models, but we think Tom Ford's latest campaign is a close second.

The designer stars alongside supermodel Lara Stone in the sleek new ad for Tom Ford Beauty, which (cue squeals of delight) marks the impending arrival of his long-awaited skincare and color cosmetics collections.

“I’m not in the ads because I’m vain," Ford tells Women's Wear Daily in an exclusive interview. "A lot of people still don’t know who I am, and the product sells better with me in the ads. The old designers—Yves [Saint Laurent], Giorgio [Armani] and Ralph [Lauren]—occasionally used to do it.”

No complaints here! And as the beard-stroking Stone, sporting intense purple eyeshadow, fuchsia lipstick, plum nails, and bold pink along her cheekbones, demonstrates, the focus for Ford in terms of makeup is "a strong eye and a strong mouth."

Working with British makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury, Ford is all about Studio 54-esque smoky eyes (intensified with kohl-effect liner), thick brows ("the key to a youthful look"), and color-saturated lip glosses boasting names like Lost Cherry.

The designer has also come a long way from his boyhood skincare regimen of cucumber slices over the eyes, an experiment that sent him to the hospital at age 14. His new skincare range includes standouts like the Traceless Foundation Stick, Illuminating Protective Primer, Intensive Infusion Concentrate Extreme (a serum he sometimes sleeps in), and Purifying Crème Cleanser, which makes the skin feel "moisturized and unbelievable."

Ultimately, it's a beauty range that Ford says is representative of his design vision.

“I don’t like B.S. and a lot of promises, and there are a lot of products out there you don’t even need,” he tells WWD. “My brain works in the same way whatever I do. The approach is practical, architectural, and I use the same vocabulary whether I’m designing clothing or color cosmetics.”
