Its Official: Alexander Wang is headed to Balenciaga as the brand's new creative director!
After a month of gossip and speculation, the fashion rumor mill can take a break for a hot second.
WWD reports that market sources confirmed the appointment and an announcement from the brand is expected to be released next week. It seems New York Times fashion critic Cathy Horyn, who was the one to break the news of Raf Simons being appointed at Dior and predicted that Wang would take the reins at Balenciaga, was right once again!
A major moment in American fashion, the 28-year-old New York-based designer, whose eponymous label was launched only in 2007, will replace Nicolas Ghesquière at the French fashion house.
