Like, wow! Carrie Bradshaw will be returning to the small screen.

Still mourning the loss of Sex and the City? Your Carrie Bradshaw fix might be coming sooner than you think.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the CW has officially ordered a pilot for Carrie Diaries, based on the Sex and the City prequel book by Candace Bushnell that follows a young Carrie Bradshaw in high school during the early 1980s.

Behind the series are Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the producers of Gossip Girl, Len Goldstein of Fake Empire, with former SATC writer and co-producer Amy B. Harris on board as well.

Don’t expect appearances from Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte, though. Carrie’s past partners in crime reportedly include boyfriend Sebastian Kydd and rival Donna LaDonna.

No word yet on casting, although Blake Lively, Elizabeth Olsen, and Chloe Moretz’s names were all brought up to play Carrie when rumors of the project first started circulating last year.

But what we really want to know is whether the show’s famed costume designer, Patricia Field, will reprise her role.

The fashion potential of Carrie Bradshaw in the ‘80s is just totally awesome!
