OVERALL TAKEAWAY: Now this is what we call a high fashion foam party.
A backdrop of billowing soap suds spilled out onto the catwalk of Rick Owens' Paris show, where the man who practically lives and breathes black leather started things off on a softer note.
While inky black structured croc capelets and fluid trash bag skirts made their way down the runway, it was the angelic white feathered gowns and jackets seemingly studded with cotton balls that pulled at our heartstrings/pocketbooks.
Of course, much of the collection looked past the heavens and to outer space, with sci-fi chic garments in plastic and sheer wisps of color-blocked fabric dominating the show. The shoulders were as sharp and pointy as the models' topiary-style wigs, and bold flashes of metal enhanced the futuristic feel.
Of course, if Owens' metallic pewter tunic with matching draped skirt is any indication of what lies ahead, we'd say the future looks pretty bright indeed.
