OVERALL TAKEAWAY: Forget that gold Prabal Gurung body skimming dress that Jennifer Lawrence wore for The Hunger Games premier - this season the designer was all about flowing fabrics that barely touched the body.
Silks and chuffing were draped like appendages to box cut dresses, slouchy low-waisted trousers, and billowy skirts. Models’ figures were lost in overflowing amounts of fabrics, which was a surprising addition for the designer who normally creates clothing with the female figure in mind (i.e. Jennifer Lawrence’s luscious curves).
It seems that this season the designer focused entirely on the craft - everything intricately sewn together in a way that could almost make this collection couture. And while the detail and craftsmanship was indeed beautiful and a true testament to the designer’s talent, we can’t help but wish he’d consider the body, too.
