Baz Luhrmann and fashion go together like a splashy, over-the-top musical number and an elephant—that is, better than you might think.

The Aussie director is currently working on a very au courant adaptation of The Great Gatsby; given that the '20s have been roaring onto the runway, it's one of the most highly-anticipated fashion movies of the year. But apparently, Luhrmann also found the time to shoot a film for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's upcoming "Schiaparelli and Prada - Impossible Conversations" exhibit. The clip will bring to life a dialogue between Miuccia Prada and Elsa Schiaparelli (the "impossible" comes from the fact that Schiaparelli died nearly forty years ago.) Veteran character actress Judy Davis has been tapped to play the Surrealist designer.

Luhrmann is a creative consultant for the event as well, so we can look forward to some theatrical antics, and—dare we hope—even a musical number on May 7?

Between all the Met ball news lately—the vintage goodies on display, the designer/celebrity guest pairings—our excitement keeps building. We can't wait to see the interplay between Prada and Davis. Not to mention, will Davis sport a lobster gown?
