First Lady Michelle Obama proved her style-icon status once again in an Alexander McQueen red petal-print silk organza gown, which she wore at the White House State Dinner honoring the Republic of China and its president, Hu Jintao.

Slightly modified from the Resort 2011 runway version, the dress's sleeves are less billowy, with one side falling slightly off the shoulder.

The rich red hue gave the stunning McQueen design a regal appearance and flattered Mrs. Obama's statuesque physique. She completed her look with an elegant updo and drop earrings.

Representing the fashion set among the VIP guests—which included President Bill Clinton and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton as well as President Jimmy Carter and former First Lady Rosalynn—were Vogue editor Anna Wintour and designer Vera Wang.
