Resort 2012: Tory Burch

If there’s a brand the resort season was created for, it’s Tory Burch. Not just because the Palm Beach-preppy fare makes one long for a vacation no matter the season, but because there is such incredible demand for the label's new offerings.
And don’t be fooled by her lack of formal runway shows (word has it that may change next season)—the woman runs a veritable empire. Hard to believe it all started with that little Reva flat, no?
As always, her accessories for the in-between season are strong: great wedges and heels in candy colors, chunky rope and colorful plastic chain necklaces that would go just as well over a twinset as something a little edgier, and an array of patent leather accessories for all your various iGadgets.
As for the ready-to-wear, this season was inspired by Santa Fe and the American Southwest: Think rusty reds and sunset shades, tweed ponchos, and some great printed silk blouses with fringed ties at the neck. For the more bohemian among her fans, there are tasseled necklaces and Native American-inspired prints; for her more buttoned-up clientele, there are crisp white blouses, tailored shorts and pants, and office-worthy shift dresses. Truly, something for everybody. Does Tory ever sleep?
