Bettina’s Take: No Strings Attached Movie Premiere

Demi Moore Ashton Kutcher

Is it possible to have a relationship between a man and a woman that's purely sexual? The funny and sweet comedy No Strings Attached has the answer. You'll have to see it to find out.

It's clear the cast and crew enjoyed making this film: "This is the most fun I've had, ever, making a movie," Ashton Kutcher said in his introductory remarks at the Cinema Society's screening, proceeding to give most of the credit to Natalie Portman (how nice is that?).

Judging from the audience's reactions, the film will be a hit; a feel-good movie for the doldrums of January.

Tamara Mellon and Olivia Palermo loved the movie.

"I want to be Natalie Portman!" joked Nicole Miller.

"It was so much fun. Ashton Kutcher loves these kinds of movies—last year he was in Valentine's Day," said Dylan Lauren, impressing us all.

Meanwhile, Ashton himself, dressed in DKNY, which co-sponsored the event, made his way to the after-party at the Soho Grand, where Demi Moore, Fred Armisen, Paul Haggis, and Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner all dined on short ribs and truffle cheese ravioli.

I asked SNL's Abby Elliott, who co-stars in the movie, what her most fun moment was while filming.

"During the scene where Natalie calls me a pumpkin, I fell into a bush and my pants fell down. She laughed so hard and said, 'I can see your butt crack.' And we took the humor from there. It turned into a really funny scene."

Actor Gregg Bello was a big fan too: "I think it's going to be a very successful movie. They're both beautiful, it's funny, and it's very well written."

As the night progressed and more DeLéon tequila margaritas were consumed, talk turned to sunnier climes and Oscars trips, and Andrew Saffir made sure everyone was happy. Once again, he was the perfect host.
